what are my liabilities and legal risks as I stop payment on a check used as down pay for a Used Boat -Florida
I was purchasing a used boat from a private seller and left a down payment check for 1500$ in florida – no sales contract signed – pending to finalize the transaction a few days after when the ower had the title form his bank. In the meantime I realized there was a big damage in the engine and decided not to buy the boat anymore. The seller decided not to give me back my check and I called my bank to sto the payment. What are my liabilities and risks? what is the revocation policy in florida?
i think that you are stuck what is that saying buyer beware you might talk to the state attorney down there and see what you can do about the boat not being as you thought it would
